Winter Equipment

On the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, winter equipment is mandatory between November 1 and April 1, regardless of weather conditions.

Winter Equipment means:

For motor vehicles with up to 8 seats and < 3, 5 t GVW:

• Tires with winter profile on the drive axle with min. 4 mm tread depth, or
• Tires with standard profile with min. 4 mm tread dept; in case of winter condition snow chains to be mounted on the axle drive

For motor vehicle with 8+ seats and > 3, 5 t GVW:

• Tires with winter profile on the drive axle with min. 4 mm tread depth, snow chains and prescribed tool s(i.e. shovel and a bag of sand weighing between 25 kg and 50 kg), or
• Tires with standard profile with min. 4 mm tread dept; in case of winter condition (i.e. snow fall, freezing rain, black ice etc.) snow chains to be mounted on the axle drive and prescribed tools (i.e. shovel and a bag of sand weighing between 25 kg and 50 kg).
