Road Assistance

All citizens in possession of motor vehicles registered on the territory of the Federation of BH are entitled to the following services FREE OF CHARGE:

  • Information on road and driving conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
  • Technical Assistance to enable safe continuation of journey (i.e. repair of minor vehicle damages);
  • Removal of defective and damaged vehicles from the road to the AMC headquarter or nearest repair station to enable undisturbed traffic flow (i.e. if determined that the defect can't be removed on site).

When a traffic user in possession of motor vehicle requests technical assistance on the road, the Service provider is required, if possible, to put the vehicle in function and enable continuation of the journey. Road assistance doesn't include any repair of the vehicle in the repair service. Having found that the vehicle with max permissible weight up to 3, 5 t cannot be put into function, the Services provider is required to remove such a vehicle from the road by transporting it free of charge to its headquarter or the nearest registered vehicle repair service or, when requested by the owner, to the appropriate parking lot at a distance of a maximum 15 km. If the user of the service insists on transporting the vehicle to a location that doesn't meet the foregoing, the Services provider shall calculate the difference between the requested and the approved mileage (up to 15 km) at the expense of the user (if agreed for such transport).

The Service provider is required to provide one traffic participant with a maximum of one vehicle service (vehicle repair) during the month, and a maximum of three services per year, of which two vehicle repair services on the road and one transport service. Vehicles that are defective in private spaces and rest areas can be provided with free on-site vehicle repair services with the aim of putting the vehicle in a function, with the advantage of vehicles that need roadside assistance, but are not entitled to free transport services because they do not interfere with the movement of other vehicles and road users. In the event of a significant increase in calls for roadside assistance, priority will be given to those seeking intervention on a higher-ranking road over a lower-ranking public road.
